Zusammenfassung: Planning, construction, servicing and operating outdoor swimming pools with biological water purification require special technical skills and experience in various disciplines - particularly regarding filtration, limnology and flow penetration technologies. Since 2003, the various requirements have been regulated by the FLL rulebook "Recommendations for Planning, Construction, Servicing and Operation of Public Swimming and Bathing Pools." In recent years, various research results have been presented and a wealth of experience with swimming and bathing ponds has been collected from the operation of facilities built after the 2003 edition of the rulebook. This has prompted the FLL to update and edit the 2003 edition of the rulebook. The regulations were examined in their practical applications, new findings were added and a new rulebook "Recommendations for Planning, Construction, Servicing and Operation of Outdoor Swimming Pools with Biological Water Purification (Swimming Ponds)" was developed and refined
