Comparative hygienic quality measurements in natural swimming pools in Lower Saxony 2003

Zusammenfassung

In Germany the number of conversions of artificial pools into natural swimming pools has been increasing since 1995. Most of the pools were in a poor condition and the conversion promised a considerable reduction of maintenance and operating costs. The water of natural swimming pools is unchlorinated, contains no chemical additives and plant filters are installed the water processing. Although most of the population accept unchlorinated water in swimming pools without any chemical additives, the hygienic safety is a serious issue. This report refers to the 12 natural swimming pools we had in Lower Saxony in the year 2003
